The 2012 YMCA basketball season got underway Saturday with action in both gyms at the YMCA, Love School and the Levant gym. Stop in to see the action every Saturday from now through March. The Southwestern Varsity Wrestling Team took 2nd place in the Ripley Tournament on Saturday, January 7th. In the picture, all 8 wrestlers placed in the top 4. In front, from left to right, Brett Swan took 2nd and Chris VanSickle took 3rd. In the back, from left to right, Howard Boutelle took 4th, Dan Petruccello took 3rd, and Chad Cooper, Dylan Lundmark, Ryan Hetrick and Brian Westerdahl all took 1st.

The JHS Baseball program will hold it's 3rd annual Winter Clinic on December 27th, 28th and 29th in the Jefferson Middle School Gym. It will run from 2:30-5:00 pm each day and is open to kids in grades 3-8. The cost is $50 for all three days or $20 per day. Any player pre-registered by December 22nd will receive a clinic t-shirt. Eden - Five young swimmers competed at the NISL/Eden Swim Meet at Eden High School October 11, 2011. Claire Pumford placed 1st in 100 IM, 100 Back, and 50 Fly and 2nd in 50 Breast. Coached by Chris Schrader, The Falconer Central Basketball team is ready for the season. Although the team has a non-league record of 1-2, they are working hard to turn that around and are looking forward to a winning season.
