7/22 - Jamestown Container defeated Jamestown Savings 13-3:
Scoring eight runs in the first inning, Jamestown Container beat
Jamestown Savings by the score of 13 to 3. The hitting star for
Container was Andy Sampson who was 2 for three with a pair of
doubles. The Container pitching staff of Adam Westley, Jeff
Miller, and Nolan Ryan gave up three runs on four hits, 8
strikeouts and three walks. The hitting star for Savings was
Kenny Dirling who was 2 for 2 with a double. Container now
advances to the loser's bracket championship game that will be
played at Roseland Park on July 23rd at 5:30pm.
7/19 - Jock Shop defeated Jamestown Container 13-2:
On Monday the first game of the Jamestown Babe Ruth 13-15
division tournament aws played with Jock Shop prevailing over
Jamestown Container 13-2 in 5 innings. Ben Whitney pitched 4
innings giving up only 1 hit with 6 strikouts & no walks. Alex
Guzman had 2 hits, while Cameron Haberberger, Brett Dehner, Cody
Becker, Jake Kindberg, & Ron Harrington all had singles.
For Container, David Morse, Carlos Berrios, Nolan Ryan & Andy
Sampson all had singles. Jock Shop will now take on the
winner of Tuesdays game between State Farm & Jamestown Savings.
7/12 - Jamestown Savings
defeated Jamestown Container 8-7: Brandon
Spangler had a double and Bram Johnson and Tommy Fortune each
had a pair of hits for Savings. Adam Westley had 2 hits
for Container.
7/5 - Jock Shop defeated Jamestown Container 8-7: Down
7 -5 entering the 7th inning, Jock Shop was the benefit of a
huge hit from Jacob Kindberg driving in 2 runs to tie the score,
then a sac. fly to deep center from Cameron Haberberger to lead
Jock Shop to win 8 -7 over Jamestown Container. Other hits for
Jock Shop were Ben Whitney with a double and Alex Guzman with a
single. For Container, Sampson had 2 hits, Adam Westley a
double, Carlos Berrios, S. Westley, & Nolan Ryan a single each.
6/24 - Jamestown Savins defeated Jamestown Container 5-4:
Jamestown Savings Defeated Jamestown Container 5-4.Tommy Fortune
and Brandon Spangler each had doubles for Savings.David Morse,
Adam Westley and Carlos Berrios each had hits for Container.
6/14 - Jamestown Container defeated Clymer 6-5:
In another close game Jamestown Container scored two runs in the
bottom of the seventh to beat the visitors from Clymer 6 to 5.
The Chautauqua Babe Ruth League and the Jamestown Babe Ruth are
having Inter League play this week. A strong pitching
performance by Clymer's Wiggins limited Container to just four
runs in six innings. Containers pitching four some of Zarek
Bettis, Nolan Ryan, Jeff Miller and Adam Westley held Clymer to
five runs on 5 hits, 5 base on balls and 6 strikeouts. In the
bottom of the seventh Adam Westely lead off with walk, stole
second and third and scored on a past ball. Harrison Tyra then
singled and advanced to second on an error by Clymer's right
fielder. He advanced to third on a past ball. Clymer then
loaded the bases with two walks to Bill Krywy and Skyler Westely.
Nolan Ryan came up with two outs and bases loaded. With 0 & 1
count him he drove a fast ball past the short stop that scored
Tyra from third base. For Clymer Wiggins was 2 - 4 with a
double, while his team mate Motherwell had a double. Jamestown
Container was lead by David Morse 2 - 2, Harrison Tyra 2 - 3 and
Nolan Ryan who was 2 - 2.
6/12 - Jock Shop defeated Jamestown Container 3-2: In
a great pitchers duel Jock Shop defeated Jamestown Container 3 -
2 in 10 innings. Bret Dehner and Alex Guzman each had 2 hits
while Cody Becker and Cameron Haberberger had 1. Pitching for
Jock Shop was Becker for 4 innings and Ben Whitney for 6. Each
allowed 1 unearned run each while giving up 6 hits with 11
strickouts. For Container, Adam Westley doubled, while Carlos
Berrios, Shaun Westley, Nolan Ryan, Jeff Miller, and Colton Vail
each had a single. Pitching was handled by Adam Westley, Miller
and Vail. Westley threw 5 innings with 13 strickouts. The three
combined for a 6 hitter with 20 strickouts.
6/10 - Jamestown Savings defeated Jamestown Container 12-4:
Bram Johnson
Collin Abbott and Tommy Fortune combined to Give up 4 runs on 6
hits while Kenny Dirling had 3 hits for Savings. Carlos Berrios
had a pair of hits for Container
6/8 - Jamestown Container defeated State Farm 6-5:
It
took Jamestown Container 8 innings to down State Farm Insurance
by the score of 6 to 5. Kyle Emerson of State Farm, pitched 7
inning allowing 5 runs on 8 hits, with 11 strikeouts and 5 base
on balls. The three sum of Adam Westely, Jeff Miller and Coltan
Vail, for Container, allowed 5 runs on 6 hits, 8 base on balls
with 14 strike outs. Because of Babe Ruth pitching rules
Emerson was relieved of pitching in the bottom of the 8th
inning. Container's first batter was struck out and then the
second batter, Nolan Ryan was walked. Ryan went to second on a
second walk to Dylan Jenkins. Ryan then attempted to steal
third and scored on an overthrow at third. Adam Westerly was
2-3 with an RBI and Zarek Bettis had a double for Container.
State Farm had 6 individual players with one hit apiece. A
defensive gem was turned in by Zarek Bettis to Harrison Tyra to
Schuyler Westley for a 6-4-3 double play in the critical 5th
inning snuffing out a possible big inning by State Farm.
6/2 - Jamestown Container defeated Jock Shop
8-5:
In a rain shorten game Jamestown Container
scored 8 runs on 7 hits suppporting the
winning pitcher Nolan Ryan. Zarek Bettis
was 2 for 3 with a double, while team mate
Colton Vail had three RBI and a double. Top
hitters for the JockShop were Guzman, 2 for
3 with a triple; Ben Whitney had an RBI on a
double and Becker had 2 RBI on a double.
