6/14 - VVA defeated Sertoma 16-11:
In the final game of the season, VVA comes away with another
win. With the pitching staff of Card, Isaah Rojas, Dante
Garland, Addison Downey, and Boggs held Sertoma to one hit. VVA
was led by Adam KIndberg and Drew Boggs added a triple. Noah
Caruso was the leader at the plate for Sertoma with the lone
hit. Caruso, Simmons, Franchina, and Schultz held VVA.
6/12 - VVA defeated Sertoma 6-4:
VVA captured
the 2010 Lyle Parkhurst Tournament Championship by rallying back
to beat Sertoma 6-4. VVA's pitching staff of Duel Card, James
Rojas and Drew Boggs held the big bats of Sertoma to 1 hit on
the night while only walking 6. Boggs also went 2 for 3 at the
plate with a double while Card added a triple. The lone hit for
Sertoma was by Christian Dolce.
6/9 - VVA defeated Cusimano's 3-1:
It was a
pitching duel as VVA's Drew Boggs, James Rojas and Duel Card
tossed a no hitter. For Cusimano's Anthony Gullo, Mackenzie
Abbey, Tyrese Thompson and Jack Eimiller allowed only 1 hit.
That lone hit came at the hands of Drew Boggs. VVA now advances
to play for the Championship of the Lyle "Parky" Parkhurst
Tournament on Saturday at 5pm at Bergman Park.
6/8 - VVA defeated Peppy Dental 9-3: In a game that was
knotted 0-0 after 4 complete innings, it was Jake Brown and Noah
Larson that had a double each to help Peppy Dental take a 3-2
lead in the fifth. VVA then scored 7 runs in the top of the 6th
to secure the victory. Duel Card and Adam Kindberg each had a
double for VVA while Card and James Rojas pitched two scoreless
innings. For Peppy Dental, Brown went 2 for 3 and Larson added
a double.
6/5 - VVA defeated Cusimanos 8-4:
VVA improved their record
to 10-1 while clinching the 2010 Minors Division Championship of
Jamestown Babe Ruth with an 8-4 victory over Cusimano's
Collision. The pitching trio of Adam Kindberg, Drew Boggs and
Duel Card tossed a 1 hitter. The lone hit for Cusimano's was by
Dylan Hultberg. Duel Card hit an "inside the park" homerun for
VVA while Drew Boggs went 2 for 3 on the night.
6/1 - VVA defeated Jock Shop 7-0:
James
"Cookie" Rojas led VVA going 2 for 2 at the plate while shutting
down Jock Shop on the mound recording 6 strikouts in 2 innings.
Adam Kindberg also ripped a triple for VVA, Kyle Peterson hit a
double and Addison Downey recorded his first hit of the season.
Ben Smeltzer and Jameson DeLong had the only two hits for Jock
Shop.
5/29 - VVA defeated Chautauqua Mechanical 9-3:
Adam Kindberg
had the hot bat for VVA going 3 for 3 with a pair of triples.
Duel Card went 2 for 3 with a double and Gavin Card added a
double. Card, James Rojas, Drew Boggs, Dante Garland and
Kindberg all pitched for VVA holding Chautauqua Mechanical to 5
hits on the afternoon. Bryce Jackson went 2 for 2 at the plate
for Chautauqua Mechanical while Carter Stam added a double.
Hunter Beardsley, Seth MacTavish and Jackson handled the
pitching duties for Chautauqua Mechanical.
5/27 - VVA defeated Peppy Dental 11-2:
It was the
hot bats of VVA that lifted them to victory. Trailing 2-0 after
3 full innings, VVA went on a tear scoring 11 runs in 3
innings. Drew Boggs led the way going 3 for 3 on the night.
Kyle Peterson went 2 for 2 and Gavin Card went 2 for 3. Isaiah
Rojas and Adam Kindberg each added doubles for VVA. The
pitching quartet of Boggs, Kindberg, James Rojas and Duel Card
held Peppy Dental to 2 hits on the night. Quinn Ortiz and Eli
MacIntosh each had a hit for Peppy Dental.
5/25 - VVA defeated Jock Shop 6-1:
Drew Boggs
led VVA on offense with a home run. Adam Kindberg added a
double for VVA. Defensively, James Rojas, Duel Card and Boggs
held Jock Shop to 1 hit. Jock Shop's lone hit was by Ben
Smeltzer. Wilmari Guzman, Andrew Pumford, Jameson DeLong and
Smeltzer held VVA to 4 hits on the night.
5/15 - VVA defeated Peppy Dental 8-4:
In the battle
for top spot in the Minors Division of Jamestown Babe Ruth, it
was VVA who squeaked past Peppy Dental. Drew Boggs and Adam
Kindberg led the VVA offense with Boggs going 2 for 3 with a
triple and Kindberg going 2 for 2 with a double. Kanin Tanner
also added a double. For Peppy Dental, Noah Larson and Jahdiel
Rivera led the way with each recording a hit.
5/14 - VVA defeated Sertoma 6-5:
VVA
defeated Sertoma 6-5 in a thriller of a game at Roseland Park
Friday night. Trailing 4-5 after 5 complete innings, VVA
stormed back when Drew Boggs led off with a triple, Duel Card
added a single and Marcus Rojas ended up driving in the go ahead
run with a double. Kanin Tanner added a double early in the
game for VVA. Card, Boggs and James Rojas handled the pitching
duties holding Sertoma to 4 hits. For Sertoma, Noah Caruso,
Drew Simmons, Jon Sandstrom and Sammy Franchina handled the
pitching duties recording 10 strike outs. Jayden Schultz led
Sertoma on offense going 2 for 3 with a pair of singles.
5/12 - VVA defeated Chautauqua Mechanical 7-3:
Drew Boggs
led VVA at the plate going 2 for 3 with two doubles.
Defensively, the pitching trio of Boggs, Cookie Rojas and Duel
Card held Chautauqua Mechanical to 3 hits and recorded 14
strikeouts in 5 innings. Chautauqua Mechanical was led by Seth
MacTavish, Carter Stam and Chris Beardsley who each had a hit.
Richie Nance, MacTavish and Bryce Jackson held VVA to 4 hits
while recording 8 strikeouts.
5/8 - VVA defeated Sertoma 3-0:
In a rain
shortened game, VVA came away with the victory. Marcus Rojas
led the VVA offensive attack recording a double. Cookie Rojas,
Duel Card and Drew Boggs handled the pitching duties for VVA
allowing just 2 hits and recording 11 strikouts in 4 innings of
play. Jeff Seager and Zack Peterson each had a hit for Sertoma.
Jayden Schultz, Drew Simmons and Noah Caruso handled the
pitching duties for Sertoma holding VVA to only 3 hits.
5/1 - VVA defeated Cusimano's 7-3: Adam Kindberg led the
offensive charge for VVA going 2 for 3 with a double and a
triple, while Duel Card went 2 for three with a double. Cookie
Rojas, Duel Card and Drew Boggs held Cusimano's to two hits.
For Cusimano's, Ryan Holdridge had the two hits. Mackenzie
Abbey, Anthony Gullo and Holdridge handled the pitching duties,
limiting VVA to 4 hits.
4/30 - Chautauqua Mechanical defeated VVA
9-5:
Seth MacTavish went 2-2 with a double and
Richie Nance went 2-3 with a triple for
Chaut. Mech. Duel Card and Dante Garland
each singled for VVA.
4/28 - VVA defeated Jock Shop 10-2:
On the offensive end, VVA was led by Duel
Card who went 2 for 3 with a triple, James
"Cookie" Rojas hit a triple and Dante
Garland added a double. For Jock Shop,
Wilmari Guzman had a double. The trio of
Drew Boggs, Rojas and Card combined for 11
strikeouts and had no earned runs for VVA.
