Hard Luck Jammers

7/7 - Williamsport defeats Jammers 1-0: The Jammers lost another hard luck decision, 1-0, in 10 innings.  Anthony Hewitt's 10th inning solo home run to center field off of Wilson Matos proved to be the decisive blow against Jamestown, who despite a well played game were unable to push a run across.  Josh Roberts performed well in his first start for Jamestown, throwing five innings of shut out basball.Rand Smith and Taylor Krick paced the Jammers attack with two base hits apiece.

Masterful Montgomery

6/29 - The Jammers defeated Auburn 9-0:  Matt Montgomery was once again masterful on the mound for the Jammers, throwing four shutout innings, allowing one hit and striking out two.  New Jammer Erick Carrillo threw two scoreless innings to earn his first professional win.  The team was led offensively by Chase Austin, who put together a solid 4-for-5 day at the plate.  Sequoyah Stonecipher added three hits for the squad, while Ricky Orton had his first home run and 3 RBI.

Mahoney Gets 2nd Straight Loss

6/26 - Batavia defeated the Jammers 9-2:  Dan Mahoney took his second straight loss on the hill for the Jammers, allowing three runs on three hits in 3.2 innings.  Skyler Crawford spelled him in the 4th, allowing three earned runs on six hits in 2.1 innings.  The Jammers as a whole managed only two runs on three hits.  Kyle Jensen had two of those hits for Jamestown, while Jose Torres recorded his first base hit of the season.

Jammers Drop 3-1 Decision To Auburn

6/22 - Auburn defeated The Jammers 3-1:  The Jamestown Jammers have fallen to 0-4 on the season after falling to the Auburn Doubledays 3-1 in the 2009 home opener.  4th round pick Dan Mahoney earned his first loss in his first pro start, tossing three innings of three-hit ball with two runs allowed.  Skyler Crawford, a Jammer last year, allowed a home run facing his first hitter, then proceeded to throw four no-hit innings with four strikeouts.  Auburn starter Evan Crawford was sharp in his season debut, tossing five innings of two-hit ball, allowing one run, and striking out three.  Randy Schwartz and Jack Murphy each hit crucial home runs to left field for Auburn, who picked up its first win in three tries.  The Jammers were limited to only two hits, one by lead off man Zach Moore and DH Chad Cregar, but could never manage to get runners into scoring position.  These two teams will resume this series tomorrow night, as Jamestown's Matt Montgomery will make his pro debut against Matt Morgal at 7:05 p.m., as part of Southwestern Area Youth Baseball night at Diethrick Park.
