Opening Weekend in the LSMFL

8/28 - Chautauqua Lake defeated Frewsburg 16-6:  Chautauqua Lake defeats Frewsburg in season opener 16-6.  Chautauqua Lakes offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage and lead the offense.  Trent Howard scored the first touchdown for C. Lake and Courtney Hewes with the extra points. Josh Bradford scored the second touchdown for C.Lake and Dustin Graziano pounded in the extra point.  Josh Bradford Lead C. Lake with rushing on offense and Tackles on Defense.  Courtney Hewes and Dustin Graziano both had stand out performances on offense and defense.  Frewsburgs Micah Riolo ran back a kick off that set up Brady Collvers touchdown. Brady was instrumental in leading Frewsburg in tackles, along with Christian Droctor, Matt Hair and Shane Johnson.  View PHOTO GALLERY

8/28 - Chautauqua Lake JV defeated Frewsburg JV 26-12:  Chautauqua Lake Thundercats defeated the Frewsburg Bears 26-12 in the season opener.  Chautauqua Lakes  Joshua Walsh started the scoring on a 35 yard run. Daniell Rolfe found the endzone three more times.  Frewsburgs Dylan Greene ran 65 yards on the second play of the game, and finished the day with a 108 yards.  Trent Grey was also successful finding the endzone for their second touchdown. 

8/28 - Bemus Point defeated Sherman 30-12:  Ben Richard scored his first career touchdown as the Bemus Point varsity defeated Sherman/Ripley 30-12.  Jonah Tanner had two rushing touchdowns while Michael Welsh connected with Howie Nolan through the air to complete the scoring for Bemus Point.  TJ Bihler led the Red Dragon defense with eight tackles and a fumble recovery.  Trevor Micek and Keenan Smith also recovered fumbles for Bemus Point.  Jake Ames led Sherman with a 27 yard touchdown reception and a one yard rushing touchdown.

8/27 - Westfield defeated Brocton 22-8:  In the opening game of the season, Westfield Goldenhawks defeated the Brocton Bulldogs 22-6.  Westfield's offense was led by Joey Quagliana with 2 rushing touchdowns along with Nolan Hunt who had a 60 yard TD pass from Quarterback Robbie Burgess.  The defense was led by Luke Haskin, Jonathan Wilson, Joey Quagliana, Brandon Johnston, Nolan Hunt, Tanner Dahl and Robbie Burgess.  The entire Westfield team contributed in the hard hitting game.  Brocton was led by Kyle Cambria who had 7 carries for 50 yards and 25 return yards.  Stephan Wisecarver carried 4 times for 20yds and James Luczkowiak had 3 carries for 15yds.  Kole Wisecarver had 50 yard TD pass from running back Derek Walter.  Leading the defense for Brocton was Derek Walter with 12 tackles, Bryen Graves had 8 tackles, a sack and 1 knocked down pass, Garrett Francisco had 7 tackles and a sack, Aaron Riforgiatio had 7 tackles and Kyle Cambria had 1 interception with a return of 15 yards.

8/27 - Westfield JV defeated Brocton JV 22-0:  Westfield Offense scored 3 TD's and converted 2 point after attempts. Nick Chasse scored the first TD on a 56 yard reception.  David Grayson (QB) ran in the POT. Eric Fermier scored on a 50 yard run.  Simon Williams ran in the POT. Eric Fermier scored the third TD on a 56 yard run.  Westfield offense gained a total of 227 yards. Westfield defense held Brocton's offense to less than 60 total offensive yards and only gave up 1 earned first down.  Nick Chasse from Westfield had one interception. Brocton's offense completed a nice 40 yard pass.

LSMFL Sherman Scrimmage

The annual scrimmage held at Sherman High School this year showed lots of what is to come this year around the LSMFL.  The JASZone staff was there and we are in the process of creating our pre-season rankings to be posted later this week.  Check out the photo galleries posted from the scrimmage.  Keep in mind that new galleries will be posted daily.  Also, check out the discussions of the power rankings on our FaceBook page.
