National Championships Stay in Chautauqua
The
Jamestown Community College Jayhawks were successful in
securing another three-year bid to host the NJCAA
national division three golf championships through the
year 2011. This bid will keep the championships in
Chautauqua County, and at the Chautauqua Golf Club for
12 years running.
The
nationals championships have brought between 100 and 112
junior college golfers here from around the country as
they vie for all American and national champion honors.
Since the first year hosting in 2000, when the Jayhawk
golf team brought home the college's first ever national
team championship, the area has been treated to some of
the best junior college golfers in the nation. And
the scores prove it, as more and more golfers are
breaking par at the tough 6,400+ yard golf course.
