11/15 - STAR Swimmers at Section 6
Championships:
STAR Jamestown had four girls compete this
past weekend at the Section 6 Girls high
school championships held at ECC. Two
of the girls had outstanding swims. First
was Madi Shults who qualified for her first
Jr. National in the 50 free. Joining
her (also a first time) will be Lauren
Caldwell in the 100 fly. Below is a list of
how swimmers performed at the finals on
Saturday. Congratulations to everyone over
the two days. We are very proud of you!

The "Slower than Gold" Kiwanis/East Aurora
Open Swim Meet was held this past Saturday,
November 1st 2008 at the East Aurora High
School. There were twelve swimmers from
STAR Jamestown who participated in the
event. For some, it was their first swim
meet ever and for others, it was one of
many. Swimmers include: Sydney Burk (37.14

The Erie Community College KATS and STAR
Swimming hosted the Gold-Silver-Bronze meet
at the Flickinger Aquatic Center in
Buffalo. The meet started in the afternoon
of Friday, October 17th with the 12&Under
200 IM and ended in the late afternoon of
Sunday, October 19th with the Open 1000
Free. STAR Jamestown was represented by
five veteran swimmers: Lynsey Gutzmer,
Megan Gutzmer, Katie Lawton, Skye Smith and
Xiane Smith. Altogether the five swimmers
swam in 34 events, and 10 relays. The all
had personal bests times, including 10
silver times and 3 gold times.
