The 2012 YMCA basketball season got underway Saturday with action in both gyms at the YMCA, Love School and the Levant gym. Stop in to see the action every Saturday from now through March. JHS Coach Ben Drake will be running his annual "Born 2 Play" Basketball Camp series this spring and summer. The camp is open to players of ages 3-19 and of all skills and abilities. A combination of Jamestown and Bemus Point, the "Lil Red Dragons" go undefeated on their way to the championship title in the 10U girls division. Olivia Gates (Jamestown), Lauren Peters (Jamestown), Clare Crossley (Bemus Point), and Macey Lundmark(Jamestown).
3/5 - Chautauqua Lake defeated the Celtics 39-19: Cahutauqua lake was led by Blane Thomas with 10 points, and Bryan Anderson with 6. The Celtics were led by Isaah Rojas and Addison Dove, both with 4 points. The Honest John’s players of the game were Derrick martin for Chautauqua Lake, and Jack Eimiller for the Celtics.
3/5 - The Zone defeated the Celtics 37-30: The Zone was led by Tyler Hind with 18 points, and Jordan Dustin with 6. The Celtics were led by Isaah Rojas with 10 points. The Honest John’s players of the game were Nick Rizzo for The Zone, and Jack Eimiller for the Celtics.
3/5 - The Warriors defeated the Lakers: The Warriors were led by Dante Garland with 10 points, and Easton Tanner with 8. The Lakers were led by Joseph Velazquez with 8 points. The Honest John’s players of the game were Austin Lindell for the Warriors, and Tyler Swegles for the Lakers.
In the 5th & 6th Grade Division, the Defaults defeated DaBallers by the score of 43-38. The Defaults were led by Nico panes with 16 points. DaBallers were led by James Rojas with 32. The Honest John’s players of the game were Justice McBride and Noah Larson for Defaults, and Ejuah Adam for DaBallers.
