4/24 - Fredonia State defeated Medaille 16-5:  Fredonia completed a double sweep of Medaille, 16 -5 and 4 - 1.

Local players contributing for Frdonia were Josh Melquist with 2 hits, 3 runs, and 3 stolen bases, and a double in game one. Jordan Basile with 4 hits, 6 runs, for the two games. Matt Laporte (Fredonia H.S.), 3 hits, 4 RBI`s, double in game two.

In the SUNYAC conference games stats for the year, Josh Melquist leads the conference in hitting with a .484 batting average. 40 points higher than the next batter.  Jordan Basile leads in hits and is 5th. in batting average (.378). Ricky Carlson is tied for the lead in wins (4-0).

Several notes ; With these wins, Fredonia now holds the school single season record for wins (22-6).  Jordan Basile is within 2 hits of the school career record for hits. 

Fredonia is in honorable mention for the college division 111 national rankings, and are listed as 5th. in the New York State rankings.

4/19 - Fredonia State defeated Plattsburgh State 7-4 & 6-4:  Fredonia State improved their overall record to 20 - 6 and their SUNYAC league record to 7 - 3 with a doubleheader sweep of Platsburg State (18-11) 7-4 and 6-4 on Sunday.  This sweep puts Fredonia firmly in second place in the SUNYAC playoff race.

Local players who had a big hand in Fredonia`s wins where ; Josh Melquist (JHS, JCC) 4 hits (three in game two), with a triple, 2 runs scored, 2 R.B.I.`s  /  Jordan Basile (JHS) 4 hits, 3 runs scored, 2 doubles   /   Ricky Carlson (Frewsburg) pitched a complete game to earn the win in game two giving up only 2 earned runs while striking out 5.

For the season, Melquist now is third on the team in batting avg. (.373) first in OBP (479), 2nd. in slugging pct. (525), first in base on balls(11), tied for the lead in triples and home runs, and is 5 for 5 in SB.

Basile is second on the team in BA (.392), first in runs scored (28), first in hits (40), tied for first in triples, and first in SB (11).

Carlson meanwhile leads the team in wins (6-0), has an ERA of 1.90, with 52 innings pitched 31 strikouts, only 8 walks, and 6 picked of runners, being the ace of the staff.

Basile also recently set the school record for career runs scorded and is approching the career hits record.

Other local players on Fredonia are Bryan Bongiovanni (Fredonia HS), .344 BA , 1 HR, 16 runs, 13 RBI,   and Matt Laporte (Westfield), .286 BA.

4/16 - Fredonia State defeated Gannon University 8-6: 
The Blue Devils traveled to Gannon University where they defeated Gannon 8-2.  Senior, Matt Saeva threw well allowing only 5 hits.  The Fredonia Blue Devils have now won six in a row.
