5/22 - Frontier defeated Jamestown:
Jamestown fell to Frontier 4-3 in the first
round of the AA playoffs. The winning run
was scored in the bottom of the 7th on an
RBI single by Frontier's Patronik. Cody
Kane and Adam Neubauer had two hits each for
Jamestown.
5/22 - Jamestown defeated Dunkirk 7-5:
Jamestown won a non-league game against
Dunkirk Saturday at Martin Rd. 7-5.
Jamestown's regular season record was
10-10. Matt Tobias got the win on the mound
and went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI. Adam Neubauer
also went 2 for 3 and had 3 RBI. One of
Neubauer's hits was a 2-run homerun, giving
him 7 in his varsity career--a new Jamestown
school record.
5/18 - Jamestown defeated Hamburg 3-1:
Matt Tobias pitched a complete game allowing
one run and striking out six as Jamestown
beat Hamburg to finish their league
schedule. Tobias also had two of Jamestown
five hits and an RBI. The other hits were a
double by Adam Neubauer and singles by
Tanner Merchant and Nathan Ditonto.
5/17 - Frontier defeated Jamestown 3-2:
Jamestown fell to Frontier again on Monday
in a game filled with defensive highlights.
Levi Madden started a 9-3-2 putout at the
plate in the 5th inning, hitting Jaron
Pollino for the cutoff. Matt Spunaugle made
the tag at the plate. Madden followed that
up with a run-saving diving catch in the 6th
inning. Frontier's 3rd baseman Militello
made a great play on a a Bret Heath bunt
that led to a double play, and the game
ended when the Frontier CF Yeates threw out
Bret Heath at the plate in the bottom of the
7th. Ben Bootey had two hits for Jamestown.
5/15 - Frontier defeated Jamestown 7-0:
Jamestown was held to just four hits, two by
Matt Tobias, in a loss Saturday morning to
Frontier. Garrett Cortwright had 2 HR's and
5 RBI for Frontier.
5/10 - Williamsville North defeated
Jamestown 8-5:
Williamsville North's first three batters
scored in the top of the first on their way
to and 8-5 victory over Jamestown Monday at
Martin Rd. Jamestown was held to 5 hits by
Williamsville, two by Jaron Pollino.
5/7 - Clarence defeated Jamestown 4-1:
Jamestown lost to Clarence 4-1 on Friday at
Martin Rd. Mike Elwood went 7 innings for
Clarence to earn the win, scattering eight
hits and walking two. Cody Kane went 7 for
Jamestown allowing seven hits and walking
one. Jaron Pollino and Bret Heath each had
two hits for Jamestown.
5/6 - Jamestown defeated Williamsville North
15-9:
Jamestown scored six runs in the top of the
8th inning to break a 9-9 tie and went on to
win 15-9. Cody Kane, Jaron Pollino, Ben
Bootey, Matt Tobias and Tanner Merchant all
had two hits. Cody Kane had a home run, Matt
Tobias had 4 RBI and Tanner Merchant had 3
RBI.
5/5 - Jamestown defeated West Seneca West
12-2:
Jamestown improved to 4-4 in the league and
7-6 overall with a 12-2 win over West Seneca
West Wednesday. Jaron Pollino and Adam
Neubauer were both 2-4 with a home run each
and Cody Kane added three hits. Dylan
Kuropatwinski went 7 innings on the mound
for the win.
5/3 - Jamestown defeated Orchard Park 9-5:
Jamestown beat OP 9-5 at the new Bob Barrows
field on Orchard Park. Six players had two
hit games for Jamestown: Cody Kane, Jaron
Pollino, Adam Neubauer, Bret Heath, Ben
Bootey and Greg Miller. Cody Kane went 7
innings on the mound for the win. Jamestown
evens its overall record at 6-6 and moves to
3-4 in the league. Their next game is
Wednesday at home against West Seneca West.
4/30 - Lancaster defeated Jamestown 3-2:
Jamestown lost to Lancaster 3-2 on a squeeze
play in the bottom of the 8th inning. Matt
Tobias had 12 strikeouts in 7+ innings.
Jamestown's three hits came from Jaron
Pollino, Ben Bootey and Levi Madden.
4/28 - Hamburg defeated Jamestown 3-2:
Jamestown lost a tough game to Hamburg 3-2
Wednesday night. Cody Kane took the loss in
a strong pitching performance, going 6
innings, striking out four and walking one.
Hamburg's pitchers combined for a two
hitter, allowing a single to Levi Madden and
a double to Matt Tobias. Jamestown plays
Friday at Lancaster.
4/22 - Orchard Park defeated Jamestown
20-10: Jamestown fell behind early
to first place OP and, trailing at one point
17-3 and eventually losing 20-10. For
Jamestown, Cody Kane had four hits and 3 RBI
and Adam Neubauer had three hits including a
HR.
4/20 - Jamestown defeated West Seneca West
21-1:
Cody Kane went 3-5 with three runs scored
and picked up the win on the mound going 7
innings with 9 k's. Ben Bootey also added
three hits, including a home run. Matt
Tobias was 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored. Bret
Heath, Tom Liuzzo, Tanner Merchant and Levi
Madden added two hits each. Matt Spunaugle
hit a solo homerun in the 5th. Jamestown is
now 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the league. They
next play Orchard Park at home Thursday at
noon.
4/15 - Jamestown defeated Plattsburg 11-4:
Jamestown picked up its second win of the
Mingo Bay Classic on Thursday defeating
Plattsburg 11-4. Bret Heath was the winning
pitcher. Adam Neubauer led a balanced
offensive attack with two hits and 4 RBI.
Nine other players contributed hits as
Jamestown broke the game open in the fifth
inning with 4 runs and continued in the
sixth with five more. Jamestown plays
Southwestern today at 10am at Myrtle Beach
High School.
4/14 - Jamestown defeated Newark 6-2:
Jamestown picked up their first win of the
Mingo Bay Classic on Wednesday, defeating
Newark 6-2 behind a strong pitching
performance from Cody Kane. Kane went 7
innings with 11 strikeouts and no walks. He
allowed five hits. On offense, five players
contributed two hits each: Bret Heath, Ben
Bootey, Jaron Pollino, Matt Tobias and
Tanner Merchant. Cody Crandall had a key
2-RBI single in the 4th to give jamestown a
3-1 lead.
4/13 - Immaculate Heart defeated Jamestown
6-3:
Jamestown lost their second
game of their trip down south. This
time they lost to Immaculate Heart 6-3.
Cody Kane had two hits and a run scored.
Bret Heath contributed with a RBI double.
Jamestown now falls to 0-2 in the Mingo Bay
Classic. Jamestown will now wait to
see who they will take on today.
4/12 - Watertown defeated Jamestown 2-1:
Senior Matt Tobias pitched a two-hit, nine
strikeout game allowing only two walks and
just six runners to reach base, but
Jamestown was unable to get more than one
run off Watertown's Dustin Pond who had ten
strikeouts and worked a shutout into the 6th
inning. In the sixth, Jamestown put two of
its five hits back to back when Adam
Neubauer singled for the second time in the
game, stole second and scored on Bret
Heath's single. The other Jamestown hits
game from Ben Bootey and Greg Miller.
4/7 - Jamestown defeated Lancaster 12-11:
4/5 - Clarence defeated Jamestown 16-7:
Jamestown jumped out to a 7-0 lead after 4
1/2 innings but could not stop an 8 run 5th
and an 8 run 6th by defending Section champs
Clarence. For Jamestown, Adam Neubauer had 2
hits, including a double, and two RBI. Cody
Kane added 2 hits and 2 runs scored. For
Clarence, Mark Armstrong had three hits.
Jamestown next plays at home Wednesday
against Lancaster. Game time is 5pm.
