General Rules
When not covered by specific tournament rules in this
document, Babe Ruth Tournament rules apply.
Jamestown Travel Baseball reserves the right to modify
rules prior to the start of the tournament if any item
is misrepresented in this document.
This is an 8 team tournament. (including the
Jamestown team)
Teams should be at the assigned fields one hour prior to
the scheduled time of the game. If a team cannot
field a team 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start
time, the team shall forfeit the scheduled game.
Home team shall be declared by a flip of a coin.
The home team will be responsible for keeping the
official score book.
All games must start on time and are on a 2 hour 15
minute time limit. No inning will start after 2
hours, unless necessary to make the game official or to
break a tie. The umpire will note the time the
first pitch is thrown and the home team will write it on
the score sheet. There is no time limit on
championship games.
Any game that is not an official game because of
inclement weather or other unforeseen developments shall
be designated as a suspended game and shall be resumed
from the point of suspension.
All players on the roster must play 3 consecutive outs
in the field and have 1 at bat in each game.
Failure to comply will result in forfeit of the game.
All team rosters must have a minimum of 12 players.
General Guidelines
All games are to be
played on 90 foot diamonds.
A complete game will
be 7 innings.
An official game is 5
innings.
Mercy rule is 10 runs
after the 5th inning.
Players may wear
metal spikes.
Player Roster
Each team needs to
present an Official roster, with birth dates of all
players, prior to the start of a team's first game.
Each player on the roster needs to have a player
registration form filled out and turned in prior to the
start of the team's first game.
Batting
The
dropped third strike rule and infield fly rule shall be
in effect.
The
"Extra Hitter" (EH) is optional and may bat anywhere in
the line-up of 10 players. The EH can be
substituted and the re-entry rule will apply. The
EH substitution shall be handled like any other position
in the line-up. The EH can play the field.
Starters may re-enter the game at their original
position in the batting order. Substitutes may not
re-enter a game once they have been removed.
Pitching
Pitchers can pitch 7 innings in 2 consecutive games.
When
the manager or coach goes to the mound to talk with the
same pitcher for a second time in an inning, the pitcher
must be removed from pitching, but may remain in the
game at another position.
Miscellaneous
All
teams will play 4 games (weather permitting) with the
top 2 teams playing a 5th game for the championship.
Trophies will be awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams.
In
the event of a tie in team win/loss record, tie breaking
guidelines are:
1)
Head to head record
2) Least amount of runs allowed
3) Total runs scored
4) Coin toss
Profanity by ANY participant (including coaches) is
subject to immediate ejection from the tournament.
All
teams participating in the tournament must provide proof
of insurance for their baseball program.
In
the event of bad weather, the JTB reserves the right to
modify the format to complete the tournament.
In
the event the tournament is cancelled due to weather:
1.
0 games complete..............Full refund
2. 1 game started..................50% refund
3. 2 games started................25% refund
4. 3 games started................No refund
5. Late drop outs...................No refund

Final Notes
Hustle your teams on
and off the field. Teams are expected to pick up
trash in the dugout area before departures from all
games. Your assistance in keeping these facilities
in shape would be greatly appreciated.
